Every Steel Rule Die Package we make is custom-designed to match your application.
Our customization process begins long before our diemakers create your cutting die. We start with a conversation. Whether you are cutting a carton, label or nameplate, our Sales, Institute and Customer Service Professionals talk with you to understand your outcome. Is this an item you are cutting once or multiple times for years to come? In what industry is your product used? What kind of press do you have? What substrate are you cutting? Once we have a complete picture of your application, we collaborate with you on your drawing and manufacturing process to look for ideas and tweaks.
Our suggestions may improve the quality of your product, help your press run more efficiently or maximize profit in your process.
Then we design your cutting die. Our Programmers meticulously translate your outcome into CAD to ensure accuracy throughout our manufacturing process. The CAD drawing may be based on a one-up design, blueprint or file we receive electronically or from a sample carton. In addition to the cutting die, our programmers include other features such as ejection rubber, counterplates, and stripping and blanking tools in the CAD drawing. Any crease, perforations or reverse cuts are also designed into the CAD file.
Once your cutting die package has been carefully designed, we begin manufacturing. Your die is cut to precision by lasers programmed by the CAD file. Then our skilled diemakers ensure rule, rubber and specialty items are installed accurately. Finally your cutting die packaged is shipped in a custom-crafted container to ensure you receive your die quickly and intact.
